The 8th robot uprising on Adelaide main mall (SA), June 11th at 12noon.

A beautiful Sunday in Adelaide and the last day and last show and last robot march for the uprising tour. I was so sad on this day I’ve been having so much fun on this tour and meeting so many nice people and having the most amazing and uplifiting shows of my life I cant tell you enough how awesome and important to me this tour has been and I really didn't want to let it all go. But all good things must come to and end so march the main mall of Adelaide we did and this was the most crazy and largest turn out I think we had on all the marches. Andy Warhol (me) inside the big robot and Andy in the smaller one, lunch time and away we all go. I noticed right from the start that something was dripping all over my head and down my back, turns out the bubble machine was blowing bubbles and also dripping it every were yuk it was so cold and yuk, then the body of the robot was falling of the bottom half so I had to try hold it the whole time so yes this march was also a pain in the arse but I still had loads of fun. We marched from the top of Rundal Mall to almost the bottom, you see Rundul Mall is long very long to long. Lots and lots of people in the mall on this Sunday afternoon and I noticed lots of people from our Adelaide show the night before had turned up to march with us which gave me big smiles. Lots of little kids looked terrified of the robots I noticed them trying to shut their eyes as their parents walked past and other kids were being little brats hitting the robots and running around us , No children Its not a marketing campaign from Mcdonalds we don’t have free cheese burgers!. Once again cameras were all over us seems it was all becoming a spectacle but the word was spreading and the most important thing people were having fun. The whole time I could see so many people smiling and appreciating what we were doing. Their were kids busking on guitars and other instruments in the mall so I went and danced to their music they didn't look impressed and stopped playing. I noticed half way through the march we had come to the entrance of David Jones and the shopping arcade so I left Robot #2 behind and headed for the major store, sorry I just couldn't help myself around we went the Lady's in the make-up section looking over to see what all the fuss was about but they were smiling which was good to see, around I went until I found the exit again and back into the main mall more kids jumping around old people making jokes and after an hr we walked back to the mall and two the venue. I was covered in bubble solution by the end which made great shampoo later that day and boy my arms were tired I really don’t know were I found al the energy for this tour. We were not approached by any security on this march it was a very fun free time once again with just people and robots. Ive had the most enjoyable experience’s on these Marches and I want to thank all of you who turned up too support us and I hope you had a fun time Thank you to all the security guards and mall staff who allowed us to march on though without any trouble, the press who covered and promoted the marches for us including triple J who have been a great help and also to the band and crew and robots mackers now lets destroy the robots in July and august. P.S my only regret is that we didn't march through Parliament house in Canberra hmmm maybe we still can?

The 7th robot uprising on Geelong main mall (VIC), June 9th at 3pm.

I think Geelong is a funny old place. I pretty much grew up there from day one till 15 years old and even moved back fro a while again to live in a tent. So why not return home in a 9 foot robot? The band looked so exhausted on this day but still we got togther to march the streets of Geelong in full outfits and lucky for me Andy and Moggie marched took the honours to be inside the robots so I could enjoy the outside world and direct were we would head on this little adventure. It was so cold in Geelong on this day and it looked as if the clouds had dropped out of the sky but lucky for us as soon as we begun the march the sun came out and the day cleared up. We began this march in a small what I would call open arcade near Speakys surf shop. Moggie was having a lot of trouble pushing her robot as the wheel became stuck in some old string which was causing things to slow her down a lot. I felt bad for her I think her arms were very tired by the end. So we marched down an open road from the start but unlucky for us as soon as we hit the road a police car entered the street tailing behind us. I couldn't move Andy of the street because there was no foot path and you cant really move that fast in a 9 foot monster so the police had to sit behind us, oops sorry about that, I coulnd stop laughing it was funny to see there police officers faces. Finally we made it on too the arcade path the police driving past us shaking there heads Hehehe. The arcade had some interesting characters floating around a group of Vinyl punk kids seem to be enjoying the show. A police officer showed up to see what was going on, out came the book looks like we were in for a hefty fine for noise pollution. I noticed people had to come to join us that new the band when I first created it in Geelong so many years ago oh and my family turned up to say hi to which was nice. So we marched away slowly but surly gaining momentum and building a crowd and loosing a crowd along the way. The bubble machine on this march was working so well thousands of bubbles floating into the sky so high looked awsome from were I was standing. A lady ran up to asking if she could book the robots for a festival in August, pretty funny she seemed so excited. So we had originally decided to do just a small march for this one because we were so tired form the tour but then as the weather warmed up I thought to myself lets take on the mall lets walk through the shopping centre until they either kick us out or lock us up or we actually make it right through So it was decided I think some of the TRP camp thought it may be a bad idea, but hey the worlds full of bad ideas and what do we have to loose, nothing!. So we marched down Moorabool st untill we found the entrance to market square shopping centre and in we went. So funny to see all this people coming out of their stores wondering what the hell was blaring outside "the Robots come today", I was smiling so much I guess because I knew how naughty it was and we were getting away with it. People just looked so stunned. So we marched right through all the shops people bringing out their cameras and taking photos and asking for photos with the robots which was nice. No negatives all good then. I can see people looking over the overhead shop levels about us and waving Hahah. Then somebody whispered in my ear "The cleaners are calling security there not happy about the bubbles making the floor slippery" oh shit I forgot about that. Any way we kept marching waiting for security to come quickly and tell us off but it wasn't until we made it to the main exit doors that they arrived asking us to leave the premises ASAP which we did with a big smile. I noticed lots of people with big smiles on there faces as we walked by the robot marches are so much fun we are having such a fun time happy happy joy. The robots take on shopping malls. I think the photos tell the story

The 6th robot uprising on Melbourne main mall (VIC), June 8th at 3pm.

This march I was most excited about as I figured it was inevitable to run into lots and lots of random people and yes I was right. The whole band was dressed in geisha/robot outfits again for this march and Once again I was lucky enough to get inside the big robot and this time Andy was inside the smaller one. We kicked of the march half hour late (so hard to find car parks in Melbourne) but it was good timing as all the school kids had just hit the city. We kicked of the march from the large Nike store marching all the way to the bottom of Bourke St Mall taking us around about 60 Min's. Once again camera’s were everywere taking photos of us and what looked to be hundreds of people taking photos on their mobile phones pretty funny to watch fdrom inside a 9 foot robot. This march had a few violent moments and I heard some interesting comments made around us. My poor robot copped a few punches from time to time which was a little scary. During this march I was lucky enough to dance with a few buskers including an Indian flute player who I think may have been a little annoyed we were taking attention way from him, sorry Indian man your music was delightful to march to. We met many nice people on this walk and lots of kids enjoying the bubbles floating from the robots Head again, nice to see our melb fans out to greet us. Even the tram conductor jumped of the tram to say hello. A few hugs from some strangers which was nice. I saw this guy walk past me and I thought he looked straight at me he whispered to me “Don't tell me its 2006 already?". Lol funny guy, SO the march came to an end and out popped Andy Warhol. A few Melbourne fans eagerly awaiting to say hello at the end of the march which was nice and I was lucky enough to met some really cool people. An interview with Raw TV who are also televising the Melbourne march and then pack up time and off we go to sound check. The robots marched right on thru Melbourne, much fun indeed! Momentum is growin..

The 5th robot uprising on Sydney Pitt st mall (NSW), June 2nd at 3pm.

A rainy day in Sydney. There was talk about us cancelling this march due to the weather conditions and us slipping over and killing someone or ourselves. But you know me the show must always go on. We arrive at the top of Sydney mall finding parks easily. I left the band in the loading bay and decided to scope out the mall and to my surprise I met TRP fans ready and waiting shivering in the cold weather waiting for the circus to arrive I was also worried to see at least 10 security guards near the entrances of the mall. Maybe they heard about the marches and were here to take on the robots? Only time will tell. So back I run to the van and once again we build the robots on the side street, passes by looking very puzzled. This was the first march that the whole band was involved in and being apart of the show which was very exciting for me. Lucky for us fans had come over to help set up including our Friend Ben from Melbourne, hello Ben xx. After much delay we finally set off down the Pitt St Mall. I managed to be inside the large robot again and Eric went inside the smaller one. To my surprise as soon as we hit the mall camera guys came floating in which I was later told was Sydney Morning Herald photographers, and what seem to be a fair few fans marching down the main mall of Sydney. Oh so much fun I was loving it is so therapeutic for me and Wayne was looking so cool. The security guards were really friendly also and allowed us to keep marching through warning us not to stop and all things would be okay, Yay for friendly Sydney kids. We met a very nice homeless man who gave my robot a big hug. The rain toppled down slowly but not to much which was nice only disappointment was that the bubble machine stopped working so no bubbles for Sydney kids. The march lasted around 50 Min's and we ended up completing the whole mall. Just people and robots unannounced robots. Seems the word is spreading. Eric also attached video camera from inside the robot looking out “Robo Cam” thru the eyes of tin tin.

The 4th robot uprising on Gold Coast main mall (QLD) , May 26th at 7pm.

Man what a day this was. So much stuff going wrong so many things not happening on time lots of frustration in the air. This March almost didn’t happen but thank god it did. Dallas, Eric, moogie and myself hit the top of cavill mall (Gold Coast central Mall) around 7pm to our surprise we already had TRP fans waiting for us to arrive and support the march. Which was nice as they helped us get inside the robots. Bubble switch on and away we go again. This March created quite a stir with lots of people hanging around us taking photos and once again smiles all around. I hadn’t eating all day and my energy levels were extremely low. Pushing these things around can be a real mission I almost thought I was going to pass out. 15 mins into the march and a call from Rosie Beaten from Triple J and a very cool live to air chat on her super request show which was fun indeed. Its so nice and to have Radio support now, it helps so much to spread the word on these marches we are very lucky kids indeed. During the interview I could see the local council arriving and they didn’t look very happy. They said if we didn’t leave ASAP we could receive a fine for $2000 then the same guy grabed a TRP pamphlet and said he may go to the show and wayne spotted him later on that night, Ha what a tripper. Hmm so we turned back up the mall still managing to have a 40 min march all up which is our longest yet. A huge thank you to all the kids who came down to support us. Nice to see you guys wearing your robot shirts. After such a crazy day, this march by the end was a real treat for me and I know Eric too. I can almost say it was enlightening just so amazing for us to be able to walk thru these malls and see so many surprised but happy people I think they are becoming marches of joy. I can’t wait for Sydney now here’s hoping we can get to the end of pit st mall. See you there!

The 3rd robot uprising on Byron Bay main mall (NSW) , May 20th at 7pm.

We arrived in Byron ready on time for the mid arvo march but it seemed the town was quite empty so we decided to chill out and have a rest and make it a 7pm night march. Which I was happy about because now I could turn the robots lights on for all to see. Around about 6:30pm we loaded the robots on the main road with lights on and sat them on the street for all passers by to see lots of cars stopping in the middle of the road wondering what the hell was going on, one car almost colliding into another on the other side of the road. Once again the children must have heard the word and started circling around the robots for a better look I was lucky enough to meet some really cool kids. I was offered the night of on this march as Andy offered to walk inside the giant robot and Eric in the smaller one. Ellen grabbed her violin in geisha costume played the robot theme songs whilst we headed up Johnston st and through cafes, restaurants and shops. This was the strangest and at times scariest march to-date and I now realize just how brave we are to be doing these marches it’s a totally different perspective when you’re on the street watching the walk and seeing the people rather than inside a robot looking through a small hole. There were a lot of people out at this time so the message was spread far and wide; we headed from the bottom of the great northern hotel till the top of the beach mixing with buskers and some very crazy and wonderful artists who seemed to be enjoying our company. Lots of cars were beeping us some looking a little annoyed but I just waved at them with a big smile and most waved back with a smile. Funny to watch the people eating at the restaurants as we pass you can see the entire restaurant all their customers just all turn and watch not knowing what the hell is going on then we pass and back to eating they go lol. Some guys were given us a lot of shit and negative comments but I could see other people giving them bad vibes back which was nice to have there support. I actually had people say to me that they thought the March was a great idea and really appreciated our message and what we were doing. So were almost to the end of the march and these guys drive pass and throwing a glass bottle at us hitting the head of the robot scared the crap out of Eric would have been funny for by passes to see poor little robot looked like it was trying to hide and find shelter I think Eric was very much over the march after that. Oh the bubble liquid fell over again pouring all over Andy’s head oops! Robot march over we decided to march them up to the entrance of the venue a group or really cool rednecks decide they don’t like the robot pushing the big head of the large robots smashing its lights and breaking the robots ray gun and then they take off down the street. The venue security just sit and watch. Right now im shaking my head I really couldn’t believe this had happened though what more do I expect I guess I knew this gig was going to be hell and yes it was a bitch of a gig. Next march the Gold coast ill be surprised if we make it to the end of their mall fingers crossed. Also I a huge thank you to those who have been apart of the marches and have helped us and taking care of us much appreciated. Hope to see you all at the next uprising.

P.S One man on the street said “Is that band really worth all this hassle” hmmm good question. What do you think?

The 2nd robot uprising on Coffs Harbour main mall (NSW) , May 19th at 3:30pm.

Well it was nice to be back in my old home town of 4 years again. I picked a nice alley way beside the local mall to off load the robots unlucky to find that they had started to fall apart seems the 6 hour drive was a little uncomfortable for them also. We had to spend half an hour doing some quick repairs. As we were jumping inside the robots a nice man arrives out of now were and told us he had heard of the band and was keen to take photos. Which was great because most of the band were not apart of this march so we needed all the help we could get. Local journalist also rolled up and were taking photos seemed it was all beginning to become a spectacle. Bubble machine on and away we went. Half hour walk down a mall with lots of cracks on the pavement making it very hard to maneuver as well as that the bubble machine liquid tipped from the top of the robot I was in and poured inside all over my head instant shampoo funny stuff indeed. What was really amazing was all these kids in the mall coming over to say hi with the biggest grins and their parents seemed to be enjoying themselves also. Was also funny to see staff members from the local stores coming out of their stores to see what the hell all the fuss was about must be strange hearing robots singing loudly whilst walking though your shopping malls unannounced. Anyway no troubles from local council or any authorities. A peaceful march with children and bubbles on a nice summer’s day! A hug and a thank you to the man in the alley who saved me from falling over to many times it was a pleasure to met you and chat with you. Next is Byron I can’t wait.

The first robot uprising in Queens St mall, Brisbane May 6th at 1pm.

First times are always the most scariest. The Brisbane march went better than we all expected even Triple J become part of the buzz and interviewed me live to air before the march took place. I think the only negatives on this one were from the council who asked us to leave the city asap. Lucky for us the only way out was to walk to the end of the mall and we did it all in half an hour. Smiles all around and a huge thank you to all off you who came out to join us much fun for sure cant wait till the next one. Trash
