THE RED PAINTINGS PRESENT THE "WE BELONG IN THE SEA" AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Before heading to the U.S. in April, The Red Paintings will be doing a tour throughout Australia in support of their newest single and music video, "We Belong In The Sea."

As the band has been wrapped up in recording their debut full length, and will be in America for some time, we wanted to make sure to hit some cities we haven't been to in a while. This tour will be a temporary farewell to all of our wonderful Australian fans, and will most likely be the only Australian tour in 2008. To thank all of you for your support on the recording of "The Revolution Is Never Coming", we will be playing songs which you've never heard live before. In addition, we will be giving out 5 pairs of tickets (10 total) per show to those who donated $40 or more to us in the past year (more on that below).

The dates are as follows, tickets on-sale Friday 22nd February, with additional info (including support) to be announced soon.

PAINTERS & HUMAN CANVASES WANTED!
Since these shows will be themed after the "We Belong In The Sea" single and music video, we hope to capture the haunting beauty and overall feel of the song in a live setting. In order to do so, we want to try some new things out for all of you, but don't want to give too much away. However, as always, we want to have a few lucky participants directly involved in our journey. The band is currently working on set designs and plans for our human canvases, to bring the audience down under the sea with us...if you are interested in participating, please contact us ASAP by e-mailing seatour@theredpaintings.com with the subject "The Red Paintings Sea Painter" or "The Red Paintings Sea Canvas". If you are interested in painting for these shows, a sample of your work would be preferred (but not required). We will be selecting four painters, and two canvases or each show and would like to get everything locked in and explained to you as far in advance as possible.

If you are not interested in being a human canvas or a painter at these shows, and have donated $40 or more to us in the past year, you're eligible for free tickets! THE RED PAINTINGS & THEIR FANS START THEIR OWN REVOLUTION!

Before recent alternative means, anti-label newsmakers Radiohead and Saul Williams, The Red Paintings were hard at work on their debut full length LP, "The Revolution Is Never Coming". Completely fueled by the charity of their fans -- from a few bucks, to in some cases hundreds of dollars -- every cent made a huge difference...as lead songwriter Trash McSweeney pointed out on the bands official forum this past July, donations of $40 or more not only counted as a "thank you" in the liner notes, but also as a pre-order for the record upon it's production... Though the band is about to dive head-long into their last month in the studio and readying of the artwork for the LP (with an expected release mid 2008), we had to share this bit of information with everyone, and thank you for all of your help and support throughout this battle.

A message from songwriter Trash McSweeney:
THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us to create our debut record, not just financially, but creatively as well.

For the past six months, we have been lucky enough to work here in Australia with New York producer Tidy Kid, all the while seeing a 35 piece string orchestra, harp, painters, woodwinds, brass (including french horns, trombone, and trumpet), and even a theremin, thru the studio. Fans have also come in and helped build choirs, leaving their own "fingerprints" on the record, which has made this piece of art much more special and true to me.

I think this is an incredible achievement for a band who has had very minimal support from the Australian Music Industry. We have had many doors closed in our faces, but despite many blows, we've kept getting up and pushed through, with the help and respect from our fans and friends...I am so amazed with this achievement, and consider myself very lucky -- you all have seen me through some of the toughest times.

When we decided to run with this idea, I was unsure and worried we weren't going to pull it off, but in the end you afforded me the ability to create this album the way I needed it to feel. It was important for me to do at least this one record on my own terms -- without outside pressure -- and you have afforded us that opportunity.

I had no idea just how much love and respect there was for us, and I am truly blown away that we have been able to finish this on our terms. I've dreamt of creating this record for six years, and we are finally in the last stages.

Again, thanks to all of you.

THE RED PAINTINGS SELECTED FOR MUSEXPO 2008, HOLLYWOOD, CA!

Hot Queensland talent ready to take on world

The Red Paintings were recently selected alongside only 30 other acts worldwide to participate in MUSEXPO 2008 this April, at the House of Blues in Hollywood, CA April 27-30.

"Queensland band The Red Paintings will build on Brisbane's solid reputation as one of the world's top cities for new music talent when they travel to Los Angeles in April for MUSEXPO 2008".

The event is run by A&R Worldwide - one of the leading artist discovery and development agencies in the world - and is attended by industry heavyweights from more than 30 countries.

"A&R has played a leading role in the early discovery and development of the careers of a long list of artists, including Dido, Fatboy Slim, Missy Higgins and Evermore."

THE RED PAINTINGS TO SUPPORT AMANDA PALMER, LIVE DECEMBER 19TH

Amanda Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls) has asked The Red Paintings to play as direct support for her December 19th solo appearance in Brisbane! The band will be joining Amanda for the final evening of her Australian solo tour. From Brisbane she heads to America and meets up with Brian Viglione for a monthlong Dresden Dolls tour around the US, but this will be the last time for a while she'll be in Oz. This show is not to be missed. Other acts include The Danger Ensemble and Emma Dean. Tickets are available now HERE, but will sell out quickly. Hope to see you there, as this is going to be a killer night on all fronts. To say there are a lot of surprises in store, is a massive understatement!

"WE BELONG IN THE SEA" CD SINGLE AVAILABLE NOW

As November winds down, we are thrilled to officially debut the upcoming CD single, "We Belong In The Sea." This extremely limited edition CD single not only contains the title track, but also a previously unreleased song, "Injecting Chemicals Into The Eyes Of God". As an added bonus, the CD contains the music video for "We Belong In The Sea" in high quality PC/MAC format.

The CD hits stores December 3rd, 2007 but we are currently offering it in the online store HERE. All orders placed prior to December 3rd will ship immediately.

CHRISTMAS SHOW WORKING BEES COMMUNITY EVENT INFO

November kicks off the beginning of the Christmas Show Working Bees. This is something for the whole community which we'd love as many of you as possible to be a part of. We will be building our sets for the Christmas Show. This is a great time to meet some amazing artists and help the band for a worthy cause, and be a part of a great community event!

For the month of September, all fans who donate $40 or more to help with the recording and production costs of the new album, "The Revolution Is Never Coming," will receive a LIMITED EDITION white vinyl of "We Belong In The Sea."

The record will include "We Belong In The Sea" as well as previously unreleased tracks and beautiful artwork. As an added bonus, all copies of the vinyl will come with a special website and code to retrieve to the unreleased tracks in MP3 format (for those of you wanting to keep your iTunes Red Paintings collection complete). The Next Animal Rebellion March:
Will take place at the Valley Fiesta Sept 15 2007. 50 participants wanted for what will be the largest rebellion to-date. All participants need to met at CBD Art Gallery in the heart of Brisbane city, located level 3/ 99 Elizabeth street at 3pm and will be marching as one big group to the valley fiesta via train, the bands new album producer "Tidy Kid" will be taking the role as NOAH! "I would like to give special thanks to those of you who have helped us record and release the new ‘Feed the Wolf’ EP. It was such a new experience to create in. All of these songs are my life. They are everything I believe in and feel each day. You have allowed me to express that to so many people, thank you.

We are going to try our luck again and see if we can raise 40 thousand + to record our debut album in August. We have New York producer ‘Tidy Kid’, residing in Brisbane, producing the album (he also produced “Feed the Wolf”). We have booked the studio and he is hiring out the best gear from all around the world as we speak. We will be recording the album over 3 months starting in August using an orchestra and choir. We need your help. We want you to own a piece if it and help us keep sailing through uncharted waters. If we can get 1000 people to donate $40 or more, then we have an album. This is the one I’ve always wanted to create and have waited for all my life. No more EP’s? Consider it a pre-order I guess. The Eve of the Animal Rebellion tour has finally arrived

We are very excited to let you know that some very creative people have been working night and day to bring a very artistic spin to the animal heads, Noahs ark and stage show that kicks off tomorrow around Australia. A huge thank you to all of you who have helped us build what is going to be a very important and creative independent tour & release for The Red Paintings and hopefully this country.

In other news the “Feed the Wolf” video has been completed and will hit TV stations around Aust from next week, so start requesting the song on your local Music stations it’s been worth the wait. Don’t forget to bring your animals and friends to the animal marches for all details check the tour page we need as much support as we can get so please spread the word. Just reminding you all that this Saturday (June 2nd) the working bees start. They are for all the community to be a part of thanks to David Hooper and his incredibly helpful team of artists and art gallery for donating their space, time and resources.We will be building a big Noahs ark and 30 genetically engineered animal heads and a forest over the course of 7 days. Consider it a community event and a good time to meet some great artists and help the band for a worthy cause.

To support these releases, an extensive string of shows concludes the bands trilogy tours, this being the only Australian tour in 2007 The Red Paintings will undertake. This time, the animals reclaim their world! ItÂ’s the ANIMAL REBELLION TOUR! Join The Red Paintings genetically engineered animal marches thru capital cities and towns, two by two, to NoahÂ’s Ark leaving the decaying world behind, we need 30 participants for each march. As you all know TRP are an independent act. So when its time to record music for you all it becomes very hard to financially support a release. Well, especially at this stage after such a big overseas tour. So we thought we would ask the fans of the band to help us record and release our next single, “Feed the Wolf” & DVD band doco, “Seizure & Synesthesia”. We are hoping to raise around $1000+ in funds and then we promise to hit the road again in June/July for some shows and meet and greets.

What we are asking is for anyone to give us a minimum donation of $10 or more for the privilege to have your name in the CD sleeve as a special thank you for your support and you will also receive the single a week before it hits stores. You will need to provide your name and contact details and we will send you a free copy of the new disk signed by all band members, as well as that you will go into the draw to win a night out with any TRP member. That’s right were pimping ourselves out to you lovely people. An evening with a band member of your choice and some extra goodies to go with. We will be placing all names into a hat and announcing the winner ‘live to air’ on the bands myspace (time/date TBA)

We are on the look out for 10 lucky people who will get the chance to spend the day with The Red Paintings and be apart of a shoot for an upcoming TV show. The show will be profiling the band and will be shot at one of the band memebrshouse. This event will also include the band playing a few songs live for the TV show. If you would like to be a part of the fun and get to see just how crazy the band members are then email us your details and tell us why we should pick you. We are also on the look out for two painters to be a part of the show, if you would like to paint then please send us some of your work via email.

In other news, the band has announced two exclusive shows for Australian fans in 2007. You can catch TRP for their first show of the year at Bar Broadway in Sydney, on Feb 1st, tickets are limited and should sell quickly, this exclusive show also allows ticket holders the chance to purchase a copy of a new strictly limited edition live bootleg recording from the their USA tour . The show features a cover of "God Save the Queen" performed with Brian Viglione from the dolls and cover artwork created live by Amanda Palmer at the show in New Jersey. December - 07 - 2006

The Red Paintings return to Australia this month from playing sold out shows with the Dresden Dolls across half the planet. The band received a very warm response from punters at all shows and amazing merchandise sales. A huge thank you to all of you who supported the band at this time sending in money donations (the band had thousands of dollars of equipment and art supplies stolen on two occasions including only hours before their Chicago show), painting at shows the most beautiful artworks, lending bodies for human canvases, Dresden Dolls and crew for taking such good care of the band and the list goes on. A full run down of the tour through Trash Mcsweeney's eyes and soul will be posted on Trash's Journal in the next week. In other news the band will hit the anticipated third part of the trilogy in 2007 with many surprises in store, this tour is not to be missed more details will be announced in 2007. .

We have also added a photo tour diary page and Art Gallery covering shows and countries the band visited on the Dresden Dolls tour. The bands latest single "Pickles" has been picked up by one of the UK’s largest commercial radio station “Talksport” on 1089/1053am , the stations most popular presenter Mike Mandosa and NME Journalist Hugh Levene will be interviewing Mr Mcsweeney live on Sunday night December 10, about the recent shows In London, experiences on the Dresden Dolls tour and what’s on the horizon for the band in 2007

Trash Mcsweeney has a full page editorial in this months "Australian Guitar Magazine" available in all newsagencies. For the first time Trash's onstage and recording set up is revealed

August - 24 - 2006

After a Sold Out Aust & New Zealand tour with The Dresden Dolls, The Red Paintings return home to Brisbane to play an exclusive benefit show, an All Ages at Gardens point QUT Guild Bar in Brisbane on Sat 30th Sept. The band then head off on a whirlwind tour of America & just announced UK, London tour. We are very excited to announce that Jason Webley (USA), Brillig (Adelaide) & the Orphanarium will be special guests for the Brisbane show and are donating their services to help raise funds for the bands insane tour and to help recover from recent tragedies. This week before the Adelaide show some-one smashed the bands Tarago window stealing over $13,000 dollars worth of equipment, including all the paintings that were created on this tour and all paints which meant no more paintings could be created for the last two shows in Adelaide and Perth. On the last night of the Aust tour the DDÂ’s personally invited TRP to play support for their London shows, which isnÂ’t bad for a band with no Agent or Record label, doing things independently and still playing in front of thousands of people around the world each night and somehow surviving! Exciting times.

We are very excited to announce that punk cabaret duo The Dresden Dolls (USA) have personally invited The Red Paintings on their 3 week American tour in October. PAINTERS & HUMAN CANVASES WANTED !
Due to the overwhelming response and participation from Painters and Human cases on the latest “Destroy The Robots” tour we have decided to do it all again and share the creative energy on the Up Coming ‘Dresden Dolls’ tour across Australia, New Zealand and America. We are hoping to make these the most colorfull shows to date. TRP's 'Destroy The Robots' Part 2 of the trilogy shows kick of next week buy your tickets for all shows through usual Outlets check the tour page for details these exclusive shows not to be missed. They will be like no other paintings shows you have seen before!

As well as being confirmed main support for Scottish Art Rockers (Sold Out) "Mogwai" Show this week, the paintings have also been confirmed main support for Punk Cabaret Duo "The Dresden Dolls" national tour in September. The circus hits Brisbane (Sold Out), Sydney (Sold Out), Melbourne (Sold Out), Adelaide (Sold Out) & Perth (Selling fast) . This being Trp's first tour to WA the paintings will also be playing their own side show including an ALL AGES instore that afternoon. For more details go to Tour page.

The next song that has hit radio for The Red Paintings of their "Destroy The Robots" new EP is “Ill Sell You Suicide” the new music video will be aired on Rage and other stations from July 28th.

July - 04- 2006

The Red Paintings have made the decision to part ways with their previous label and distributor Modern Music / SonyBMG due to creative differences. Their current EP “Destroy the Robots” which features the radio favourite “Pickles” will be re-released on August 5 independently through MRA distribution. All releases are still available from the bands website and upcoming shows. “We are glad to have finally resolved the issues which have interrupted our EP release and are so relieved that fans will be able to purchase the EP again.” said singer Trash McSweeney. “Our creative freedom is so important to us and at this point in our career, we decided that being independent is a better way forward for all parties involved. We have worked with MRA in the past and they understand what we need as an independent. For us it feels like coming home.” The band's previous EP “Walls” and previous catalogue will also be moving to MRA as the band set off on the second leg of their three-part Destroy The Robots live show.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end!

The Red Paintings have just finished the first part of their Robot Trilogy tour, ‘The Uprising of the Robots’ tour (part 1). This tour has been the bands most successful and well received to-date, with many people coming out to see the paintings when they passed through their towns and cities. All the Robot marches were completed successfully, with the band parading through Major cities and towns unannounced! This caused quite a stir and created many new fans and enemies along the way.

The 2nd part of the Robot Trilogy tour “Destroy The Robots” show dates have been announced, for details go to the tour page. This month  the band gained  much positive publicity from all major street press, radio and magazines, including ‘Rolling Stone’  with the band coming in as #1 editors choice for this months issue, and ‘Blunt magazine’. We are very excited to announce TRP have been invited to play main support for Scottish Art Rockers “Mogwai” On July 21st in Brisbane at The Zoo.

The New music video for “Pickles’ will be hitting music TV shows from June 5th. Check guides for times. The video is a real treat not to be missed. A huge thank you to those of you who have been turning up for the robot marches they have been successful so far reaching a lot of people. In other news the band seem to have hit a chord with Triple J this month with Trash being interviewed live to air inside robots with Rosie Beaton on the Gold Coast and Gabby Brown in Brisbane and a very personal interview with Caroline Tran on the Home and Hosed show last week. This week the robot marches have hit headlines on Triple J’s National News as well as the courier mall and Sydney Morning Herald to-date. To add to that the band have had ‘Pickles’, ‘Destroy The Robots’ and ‘It Is As It Was’ from the new EP hitting Triple J’s Airways. More news to follow…

The new ‘Destroy The Robots “ EP has debuted in the AIR charts at #3 and the ARIA charts at #86. A big thank you to Australian kids for your support.

In other news we have been informed that the first pressing of CDÂ’s for the new EP in stores from current distributor have been SOLD OUT. You may be lucky enough to find a few still circulating around some stores. If you bought your cd already then looks like you got yourself a collectorÂ’s item that may be gold in the future! The Red Paintings new [EP] ‘Destroy The Robots’ will be released on June 1st 2006, Pre-order your copy now. The band will heading of on a Australian tour in May and June. The Red Paintings will be finishing the year with 4 SOLD OUT shows this week including the Nightmare Before Xmas Show which has completely SOLD OUT. A big thank you for all your support and congratulations to the Golden Ticket Winners. Trash Mcsweeney has some great surprises in store for you all. The band will not be playing shows for sometime now as they prepare for their next release, Destroy The Robots. This months issue of blunt magazine is a tribute to music in 2005 which includes a compilation of tracks they think will be the best bands in 2006. Added is TRP's - Streets fell in to my window, walls was also added to their October compilation. We will keep you update on news in the New Year 2006.

We have finally finalized a suitable venue to hold the Tim Burton Inspired Nightmare B4 Xmas show. ItÂ’s going to be like no other of The Red Paintings theme shows held before and the last time to catch the band in 2005. The Red Paintings have been invited to play Brisbane's 4zzz market day event on Saturday 17th Dec All Ages event. Tickets on sale now. Trash Mcsweeney will also be playing his first headlining solo show later on that same night at The Troubadour (Brisbane) with special guests.

The Red Paintings will be Hitting the Air-ways of Triple J with a set of songs on Robbie's Home And Hosed Show on Weds 26th Of Oct @ 9:30pm. The band will also be interviewed at 9:20pm following with a live set. The band will be on stage in Brisbane supporting Grinspoon at the same time so this will be an interesting interview not to be missed!
